

Instead it starts with Shepard and crew being given shore leave on the Citadel space station, at which point you find out you’re being targeted by a mysterious group of mercenaries. There is a serious story to give structure to the game but thankfully it doesn’t have anything to do with the Reapers or Cerberus. And possibly more if you’re that kind of Shepard… But in Citadel hanging out with your team is what it’s all about.

Mass Effect 2’s Lair Of The Shadow Broker is rightly held up as the lone exception but even that suffered from a lot of samey action and too few chances to just hang out and chat with your crew.
